SIP Trunks
Today, most telephone systems connect to the outside world using ISDN or analogue exchange lines. SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunks provide that connectivity across an IP network.
Customers don't need to invest in expensive ISDN or analogue cards for their PBXs, but can get trunk connections delivered over IP. This means that traditional interface constraints (e.g. number of ports on a trunk card) don't apply anymore and that many changes can be done remotely without having to send an engineer to site to make physical changes to a PBX.
SIP trunks can deliver greater resilience and flexibility by exploiting capabilities inherent in SIP and IP protocols - being able to subscribe multiple devices to the same trunk group, load balance or re-route traffic when required.
It is possible to port numbers from existing ISDN or analogue lines to our SIP trunk service and present them either in the same location or elsewhere.
SIP trunks are provided across a data infrastructure which is controlled and managed by Solution1 to guarantee security and performance.
In order to use IP trunks, your PBX would ideally be able to connect directly using SIP and enjoy most or all of the benefits shown above. It is also possible to connect a gateway which bridges the connection between a traditional PBX interface and SIP trunks.
SIP trunks from Solution1 give you unprecedented flexibility and create an opportunity to fundamentally change how telephony services are used. Solution1 can help you identify how SIP trunks can benefit your business and then help implement those changes.
